How to engage your community through the different types of Myzone Challenges

Learn the different types of challenges and strategies to deploy them.

Types of Challenges

There are 4 types of challenges to choose from:

  1. Member (video) - invite all members to compete for the most MEPs. This is our most popular option!
Note: Only members that belong to your facility can participate in this challenge.
  2. Inter-Group (video) - This option allows groups you've created from you Myzone Users tab to compete. Groups will be ranked based on their average MEP score.
Note: Only members that belong to your facility can participate in th is challenge.
  3. Facility (video) - Challenge members from other Myzone facilities to compete with your own! The facilities will be ranked by the average MEP score.
  4. Team (video) - Build custom teams--anyone with a Myzone belt (even if they are not your member) can participate in this challenge! Similar to Inter-group and Facility Challenges, teams will work together to win.

Best Practices

Advertising

Treat your club challenge like a "Fun Run" where there's plenty of advertisement and notice around the club. We recommend advertising for 2-3 weeks before the challenge starts. This helps promote belt sales and ensures all members are prepared. Check out our challenge posters and virtual marketing available in your Marketing Portal.

Strategy

We recommend a 4-6 week challenge that uses a lottery to select winners. Set a minimum MEP goal to be eligible (like 1,300 MEPs)to participate in the raffle.  Once they are in the raffle, reward additional effort by submitting a raffle ticket for every 100 or 200 additional MEPs earned. The more raffle tickets earned, the more chances they have to win the prize(s).

Creating a challenge with lottery mechanics will encourage all exercisers to stay engaged and will minimize the chance of a MEP master taking the win away right out of the gate.

Prizes

At the end of the challenge, draw a winner or a few, and use social media channels to reward and announce the winners!

We recommend prizes that highlight the club's services ($100 in services, a month of free PT, etc.) so this way the winners try a new service for free, love it, and continue.

You can also award gift cards, dinner at a local restaurant, fitness gear or experiences that promote wellness.
