BILLING AND SUBSCRIPTION MANAGEMENT

How do my members pay for Open?

You can set MZ-Open subscriptions up as an item to sell in your point-of-sale system, just as you would a physical Myzone belt. You can also choose to bake this into your membership or training packages.

Who can activate MZ-Open for a member?

Only gym staff with Owner level access to the Admin Portal can activate Open for a member. Click here to learn how to assign permissions.

How do I activate a member once they purchase their subscription?

Staff with owner access to the admin portal need to activate the subscription from the Myzone User tab. Search the member's name and tap the Open icon. Your member can begin using MZ-Open as soon as this is done.

When will I be billed for MZ-Open?

You will be billed on the 1st of the month for vouchers purchased in the previous month. This means that in most cases, you will not be billed for MZ-Open at the same time as your Myzone license (unless your license is billed on the first of the month). We will use the same payment method used for your license fee.

If a member changes their mind, can I get a refund?

If you have issued a refund for your member, please speak with our team so we can understand why and help with a refund on a case-by-case basis.

How do I make revenue from this?

In the same way that you can generate member value through belt sales, only MZ-Opens offers community heart rate training for any member with a smart watch. Either bake it into your membership price and advertise it to attract new people to your facility or sell it for whatever price you choose.

Can I activate multiple members at one time?

No. Facility owners must issue access to individual members one at a time. This offers the advantage of an onboarding process to explain the benefits and functionality of MZ-Open and the Myzone ecosystem.

Can I cancel my members open subscription?

Yes, you can either cancel the auto-renew for any individual subscription, or cancel MZ-Open for a member immediately. Click here to learn how.

MZ-OPEN SOFTWARE DISPLAY

How do I get the QR Code to show on my gym display?

In the software, click anywhere on the screen to access the menu. Choose 'Unlock Admin' and enter your password to access Settings. Click settings>tile settings to turn this on.

Tile Settings for MZ Open

Can I post my QR code other places around the gym?

No. The QR Code is specific to each class in each screen. If you run classes on your Myzone display, this means that your QR code will change as classes change.

How do members get on the live board?

First, launch the app on their watch. Next, they will scan the QR code on your screen (or as placed around your workout area); this launches the Myzone app on their phone. The connection between the board and phone is what keeps the live tile on the screen, so they will need to keep their phone nearby with the Myzone app running, even if just in the background.

Do I have to scan the QR code every time I want to be displayed on the in-club screen or change screens in the club?

Yes, you will need to scan the QR code each time you want to appear on the in-club screen display.

What happens to MZ-Open tiles on my display if the internet connection is lost?

The tile will drop from the screen if the Myzone PC goes offline. Members using MZ-Open can view their tile on their app, but not the live board. If the phone also does not have internet connection, data will be stored and uploaded to member accounts once it is online. Members will continue to see their tile on their watch and/or phone app throughout the workout. Tiles will automatically reappear on the board once connection is restored without having to scan the QR code.

What does the red x on my QR code mean?

This shows if there is a network or firewall issue, or potentially a server issue on the Myzone side. First, ensure your firewalls are not blocking connection to Myzone and then ensure ports 80 and 443 (your internet provider or Myzone Technical Specialists can help you check your ports).

DEVICES and REQUIREMENTS

Minimum network requirements for using the live board

A minimum broadband connection speed of 1-2 MBPS is necessary and a constant unfiltered connection to https://moves.myzone.org is needed for the live board software to work.

We highly recommend a wired connection to ensure an uninterrupted connection with the internet. If WiFi is used, then please make sure that the PC has a strong WiFi signal.

When using WiFi, a dedicated SSID or access point could be configured to allow constant and priority access to the moves.myzone. org server.

WiFi Hotspots / public broadcasts are not suitable due to lease time expiry and inferior download/upload speeds.

Network settings

Local firewalls must allow ports 80 and 443 for outbound internet traffic. If you need to discuss a unique network Myzone requirement, contact support from our help center or Admin Portal.

If you are unsure if the ports are open, please contact your internet service provider.

Do I need wi-fi while setting up the watch?

How long do I have to wait after signing up to work out using MZ-Open?

You can immediately begin using your watch with Myzone once you are set up with MZ-Open.

Does my watch need to be synchronized to my phone?

Yes. When you are signing up to MZ-Open, if you have not done so already, you will be instructed to syncchronize your watch to your phone.

How do I connect my Smart Watch to the Myzone phone app when working out?

Open the Myzone app on your smart watch. Select the "watch" option and then, on your phone, open the Myzone app and tap My Tile.

Do I need to have my phone with me to use MZ-Open on my smart watch?

No – the watch has storage and once synced, can be used without the phone present. There will be a message be on your watch telling you there is data to sync.

Do I need wi-fi to upload my data in the gym at the end of a workout?

A successful upload depends upon a strong internet connection. If you are streaming to a gym display and you notice it is offline, let staff know so they can make sure you get the MEPs for your effort. This icon shows when a system is offline: Cloud_RedX.

If you are using your app, check your mobile network strength or the network you are connected to.

Does my workout upload automatically?

Yes, it will upload automatically when you use the Myzone phone app while you use your watch. You can view your summary in the app if you are using your watch to view your tile. If not, connect to the app after your workout to upload (just like with a belt).

How do I stop a workout?

Swipe left and confirm you want to end your session. If you are not already using your phone app, open that to upload your workout and view your results

Can I use it for all in-app features, such as Zone Match?

You can use your watch with all Myzone app features in the Myzone phone app. The watch app allows you to view your tile only.

Can I use other apps to track my workout as well as MZ-Open?

Yes, there are no extra steps for Android users.  If you are using an Apple Watch and an app other than Myzone to record your workout, Myzone will take your heart rate data from Apple Health to read and reward effort for MEPs. Find the full steps here.

Can I use both my belt and MZ-Open watch together?

Yes. If you wear your Myzone belt with your smart watch, the Myzone belt will be the one displayed on the app and gym software. The workout will only be recorded one time.

What is the difference between a Myzone device and a smart watch with MZ-Open?

Myzone devices such as the MZ-3 chest strap or the MZ-Switch offer the same benefits as MZ-Open – seamless connectivity in the gym, accurate heart rate tracking, access to workouts, and more. The difference is that Open gives you access to this from your smart watch, with no need for two devices.

Is a wrist monitor as accurate as a chest strap?

While wrist monitors are 95% accurate to an EKG machine, a chest monitor uses EKG pads, and will always be more accurate. MZ-Open will allow you to experience all the benefits of the Myzone ecosystem, such as connected fitness, effort rewards, and the greater community, and if you would like the added accuracy of a chest strap, you can add a MZ-3 or MZ-1 to your account.

Why do you need to pick an activity?

Myzone uses the watch's smoothing mechanisms to optimise your results. These are unique for each activity.

Do I need to switch activities?

Your workout will continue to record if you do not, but we recommend switching activities for the most accurate heart rate tracking and synchronization with your fitness apps. Swipe left and end your workout. Start a new one and select your next activity. As long as this is done in less than 1 minute, there will not be a gap in your workout.

Does my watch live stream to my account?

No. Your MZ-Open workout will be stored while you’re exercising, ready for upload once you connect to your phone app in an area with strong internet.

Why isn't my watch listed as an option when I start a workout on the Myzone watch app?

You need to add your smart watch to your profile. On the app, tap the device icon and then "Add a new device" to be able to view your watch on your app.

Why do I need a Myzone account to use MZ-Open?

You need a Myzone account so Myzone can work out your maximum heart rate and zones, giving you the most accurate experience when exercising. We calculate your zones using the HUNT formula, which is 211 - (0.64 x your age). This ensures you get the most accurate, safe, and inclusive training experience with Myzone. Your account basics are also used to estimate calorie burn, display your nickname, and give you access to all the Myzone community benefits such as seeing your name on screen, chatting to friends, and commenting on workouts.
